A Bible study about darkness

Jn 12:35-THEN JESUS SAID UNTO THEM, YET A LITTLE WHILE IS THE LIGHT WITH YOU. WALK WHILE YE HAVE THE LIGHT, LEST DARKNESS COME UPON YOU: FOR HE THAT WALKETH IN DARKNESS KNOWETH NOT WHITHER HE GOETH.

1 Jn 2:9-HE THAT SAITH HE IS IN THE LIGHT, AND HATETH HIS BROTHER, IS IN DARKNESS EVEN UNTIL NOW.

1 Jn 2:11-BUT HE THAT HATETH HIS BROTHER IS IN DARKNESS, AND WALKETH IN DARKNESS, AND KNOWETH NOT WHITHER HE GOETH, BECAUSE THAT DARKNESS HATH BLINDED HIS EYES.

Jn 3:19-AND THIS IS THE CONDEMNATION, THAT LIGHT IS COME INTO THE WORLD, AND MEN LOVED DARKNESS RATHER THAN LIGHT, BECAUSE THEIR DEEDS WERE EVIL.

Pv 4:19-THE WAY OF THE WICKED IS AS DARKNESS: THEY KNOW NOT AT WHAT THEY STUMBLE.

In this generation, many people forsake Jesus; WHO LEAVE THE PATHS OF UPRIGHTNESS, TO WALK IN THE WAYS OF DARKNESS-Pv 2:13. This is yet, another example showing that a person can leave Jesus to walk in the ways of Satan.

Mt 6:23-BUT IF THINE EYE BE EVIL, THY WHOLE BODY SHALL BE FULL OF DARKNESS. IF THEREFORE THE LIGHT THAT IS IN THEE BE DARKNESS, HOW GREAT IS THAT DARKNESS!
If a person is positive they are saved, but are actually unsaved, the darkness and deception that is in them is very great.

    In the generation that will see the Rapture, it is clearly stated, 2 Thes 2:3-LET NO MAN DECEIVE YOU BY ANY MEANS: FOR THAT DAY SHALL NOT COME, EXCEPT THERE COME A FALLING AWAY FIRST, AND THAT MAN OF SIN BE REVEALED, THE SON OF PERDITION.
   The coming of the Antichrist shall not take place, except there first come an apostasy or a falling away. Indeed, the falling away has come, and there are few people left standing, but it is not perceived. There is much talk about a revival, but almost no talk about the falling that is happening in the Laodicean church of this generation. The next revival will be during the Tribulation. From now to the Rapture, times will get worse and worse; this is the age when people will not endure (or put up with) sound doctrine, because it does not suit their own desires. More and more people will continue to fall away, and what little sound doctrine that still exists will not be endured.
   How diabolically clever the Adversary is! What is the opposite of falling away? It is revival. And that is exactly what most people in this Laodicean church age are looking for, totally unaware of their wretched condition. They have been greatly deceived by the Adversary into focusing their attention on looking for revival, instead of warning others to be on guard against the falling away.

Jn 1:4. IN HIM WAS LIFE; AND THE LIFE WAS THE LIGHT OF (MANKIND).
Jn 1:5. AND THE LIGHT (SHINES) IN (the) DARKNESS; AND THE DARKNESS COMPREHENDED (or understood) IT NOT.

    Jn 1:4. IN HIM (which is Jesus)
   WAS LIFE. Only "in" Jesus is eternal life. As it is written, Acts 4:12-NEITHER IS THERE SALVATION IN ANY OTHER: FOR THERE IS NONE OTHER NAME UNDER HEAVEN GIVEN AMONG MEN, WHEREBY WE MUST BE SAVED. The verse continues—
   AND THE LIFE (which is eternal, which is Jesus)
   WAS THE LIGHT (Jesus was and is the life and the light). In Jesus is life, which is the light—
   OF (MANKIND). The only light, the only way possible to receive eternal life is through and by the Person of Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son. This is the only light through which mankind can have life eternal. Man lost the life and light in the Garden of Eden, but in Christ Jesus is life and light, which can be restored by trusting in Jesus.
   Satan told Eve, Gen 3:5-YOUR EYES SHALL BE OPENED, AND YE SHALL BE AS GODS, KNOWING GOOD AND EVIL. When Adam disobeyed God, his eyes were not opened but rather closed. They chose to believe the lies of Satan and mankind fell from the life and light.

    Jn 1:5. AND THE LIGHT (which is Jesus) (which is God) (which is salvation, which is the Word, which is correction) (which is the only way to God) (which is holy, or love, mercy, and compassion) (which is humble, quiet childlikeness even when being corrected from God’s Word), the light—
   (SHINES) (or radiates) (or is present)
   IN (the) DARKNESS (which represents unbelief, sin, and evil) (which denotes death, ignorance, and those things which are sinful and bad) (or which represents the world and death) (or which can represent hard or stiffnecked hearts) (which is an accusing, justifying, unchildlike attitude when being corrected from God’s Word) (which represents all that is contrary to light and God’s truth). Isa 9:2-THE PEOPLE THAT WALKED IN DARKNESS HAVE SEEN A GREAT LIGHT: THEY THAT DWELL IN THE LAND OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH, UPON THEM HATH THE LIGHT SHINED.
   Light dispels darkness. If a person does not have Jesus, Who is life and light, then he is in darkness.
   The light shines in the darkness—
   AND THE DARKNESS COMPREHENDED (or understood) IT NOT. The unbelieving, which are hard and stiffnecked; which have hearts that are calloused or hard; which love this present world, even the world itself, even the prideful, self-justifying, unchildlike people, or all that is contrary to light and God’s truth—do not understand the light. All whose works are evil when viewed by God’s Word, do not understand Jesus, the Bible, the Word, and God. They do not understand salvation or the holy. They do not understand God’s love, mercy, and compassion. They do not comprehend the light. The very thoughts and intents of their heart are wrong when viewed in light of God’s Word, thus their own hearts reshape and redefine God’s Word. They understand God’s Word in the context that their heart wants to understand it. They just do not understand God and His ways, although many are positive they do. They see God’s Word as if viewed through darkened, distorted, or colored sunglasses.
   When they read or hear God’s Word, their eyes, ears, and heart do not understand what God’s Word really means. It is as if there was an impenetrable black filter that prevents the real truth (as God meant it to be understood) from reaching their heart, eyes, and ears. Their darkened and calloused heart cannot fully comprehend what they are hearing, as it applies to themselves. When God's Word comes in contact with their eyes, ears, and heart, it is like good seed falling on cement, or seed that falls into rocky soil, or seed sprouting among weeds that choke and kill the plants once they have begun to grow. Satan is able to remove God’s Word from some people’s hearts as fast as it goes in. They have a wayside heart, thus their understanding is completely distorted. In others, God’s Word gets through; however, afterward Satan is able to either stop any more from coming in or distorts God’s Word enough in the person’s heart so that they also perish. Their heart has lots of stones or thorns in it. Hatred, anger, bitterness, resentment, fears, loneliness, hurts, pride, selfishness, self desires, feeling sorry for oneself, pleasures, cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and lusts of all kinds choke and kill God’s Word. Some begin to bear good fruit, but then the person becomes unfruitful, even as a tree begins to bring forth good fruit but then withers and dies.
   The darkness wants the light extinguished, because it exposes their evil deeds.
   Unjust thoughts come forth from an unjust person. Those that have Satan for their father will not understand the light. They resist the light. They shall perish.

    Jn 5:26-FOR AS THE FATHER HATH LIFE IN HIMSELF; SO HATH HE GIVEN TO THE SON TO HAVE LIFE IN HIMSELF;
   Jn 6:57-AS THE LIVING FATHER HATH SENT ME, AND I LIVE BY THE FATHER: SO HE THAT EATETH ME, EVEN HE SHALL LIVE BY ME.
   Jn 10:10-THE THIEF COMETH NOT, BUT FOR TO STEAL, AND TO KILL, AND TO DESTROY: I AM COME THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE LIFE, AND THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE IT MORE ABUNDANTLY.
   Jn 11:25-26-JESUS SAID UNTO HER, I AM THE RESURRECTION, AND THE LIFE: HE THAT BELIEVETH IN ME, THOUGH HE WERE DEAD, YET SHALL HE LIVE: AND WHOSOEVER LIVETH AND BELIEVETH IN ME SHALL NEVER DIE. BELIEVEST THOU THIS?
   Jn 14:6-JESUS SAITH UNTO HIM, I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE: NO MAN COMETH UNTO THE FATHER, BUT BY ME.
   Jn 17:3-AND THIS IS LIFE ETERNAL, THAT THEY MIGHT KNOW THEE THE ONLY TRUE GOD, AND JESUS CHRIST, WHOM THOU HAST SENT.
   Jn 20:31-BUT THESE ARE WRITTEN, THAT YE MIGHT BELIEVE THAT JESUS IS THE CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD; AND THAT BELIEVING YE MIGHT HAVE LIFE THROUGH HIS NAME.

Jesus, Who is life and light, was manifested THAT HE MIGHT DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL (who is darkness)-1 Jn 3:8.

2 Sam 22:29-FOR THOU ART MY LAMP, O LORD: AND THE LORD WILL LIGHTEN MY DARKNESS.

Ps 18:28-FOR THOU WILT LIGHT MY CANDLE: THE LORD MY GOD WILL ENLIGHTEN MY DARKNESS.

Ps 82:5-THEY KNOW NOT, NEITHER WILL THEY UNDERSTAND; THEY WALK ON IN DARKNESS: ALL THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE EARTH ARE OUT OF COURSE.

Ps 107:10-11-SUCH AS SIT IN DARKNESS AND IN THE SHADOW OF DEATH, BEING BOUND IN AFFLICTION AND IRON; BECAUSE THEY REBELLED AGAINST THE WORDS OF GOD, AND CONTEMNED THE COUNSEL OF THE MOST HIGH:

Ps 112:4-UNTO THE UPRIGHT THERE ARISETH LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS: HE IS GRACIOUS, AND FULL OF COMPASSION, AND RIGHTEOUS.

Prov 4:19-THE WAY OF THE WICKED IS AS DARKNESS: THEY KNOW NOT AT WHAT THEY STUMBLE.

Prov 20:20-WHOSO CURSETH HIS FATHER OR HIS MOTHER, HIS LAMP SHALL BE PUT OUT IN OBSCURE DARKNESS.

Eccl 2:13-14-THEN I SAW THAT WISDOM EXCELLETH FOLLY, AS FAR AS LIGHT EXCELLETH DARKNESS. THE WISE MAN'S EYES ARE IN HIS HEAD; BUT THE FOOL WALKETH IN DARKNESS: AND I MYSELF PERCEIVED ALSO THAT ONE EVENT HAPPENETH TO THEM ALL.

Eccl 6:4-FOR HE COMETH IN WITH VANITY, AND DEPARTETH IN DARKNESS, AND HIS NAME SHALL BE COVERED WITH DARKNESS.

Isa 5:20-WOE UNTO THEM THAT CALL EVIL GOOD, AND GOOD EVIL; THAT PUT DARKNESS FOR LIGHT, AND LIGHT FOR DARKNESS; THAT PUT BITTER FOR SWEET, AND SWEET FOR BITTER!

Isa 9:2-THE PEOPLE THAT WALKED IN DARKNESS HAVE SEEN A GREAT LIGHT: THEY THAT DWELL IN THE LAND OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH, UPON THEM HATH THE LIGHT SHINED.

Mt 4:16-17-THE PEOPLE WHICH SAT IN DARKNESS SAW GREAT LIGHT; AND TO THEM WHICH SAT IN THE REGION AND SHADOW OF DEATH LIGHT IS SPRUNG UP. FROM THAT TIME JESUS BEGAN TO PREACH, AND TO SAY, REPENT: FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS AT HAND.

Mt 6:23-BUT IF THINE EYE BE EVIL, THY WHOLE BODY SHALL BE FULL OF DARKNESS. IF THEREFORE THE LIGHT THAT IS IN THEE BE DARKNESS, HOW GREAT IS THAT DARKNESS!

Lk 1:76-79-AND THOU, CHILD, SHALT BE CALLED THE PROPHET OF THE HIGHEST: FOR THOU SHALT GO BEFORE THE FACE OF THE LORD TO PREPARE HIS WAYS; TO GIVE KNOWLEDGE OF SALVATION UNTO HIS PEOPLE BY THE REMISSION OF THEIR SINS, THROUGH THE TENDER MERCY OF OUR GOD; WHEREBY THE DAYSPRING FROM ON HIGH HATH VISITED US, TO GIVE LIGHT TO THEM THAT SIT IN DARKNESS AND IN THE SHADOW OF DEATH, TO GUIDE OUR FEET INTO THE WAY OF PEACE.

Lk 11:34-THE LIGHT OF THE BODY IS THE EYE: THEREFORE WHEN THINE EYE IS SINGLE, THY WHOLE BODY ALSO IS FULL OF LIGHT; BUT WHEN THINE EYE IS EVIL, THY BODY ALSO IS FULL OF DARKNESS.

Lk 22:53-WHEN I WAS DAILY WITH YOU IN THE TEMPLE, YE STRETCHED FORTH NO HANDS AGAINST ME: BUT THIS IS YOUR HOUR, AND THE POWER OF DARKNESS.

Jn 1:4-5-IN HIM WAS LIFE; AND THE LIFE WAS THE LIGHT OF MEN. AND THE LIGHT SHINETH IN DARKNESS; AND THE DARKNESS COMPREHENDED IT NOT.

Jn 3:18-21-HE THAT BELIEVETH ON HIM IS NOT CONDEMNED: BUT HE THAT BELIEVETH NOT IS CONDEMNED ALREADY, BECAUSE HE HATH NOT BELIEVED IN THE NAME OF THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD. AND THIS IS THE CONDEMNATION, THAT LIGHT IS COME INTO THE WORLD, AND MEN LOVED DARKNESS RATHER THAN LIGHT, BECAUSE THEIR DEEDS WERE EVIL. FOR EVERY ONE THAT DOETH EVIL HATETH THE LIGHT, NEITHER COMETH TO THE LIGHT, LEST HIS DEEDS SHOULD BE REPROVED. BUT HE THAT DOETH TRUTH COMETH TO THE LIGHT, THAT HIS DEEDS MAY BE MADE MANIFEST, THAT THEY ARE WROUGHT IN GOD.

Jn 8:12-THEN SPAKE JESUS AGAIN UNTO THEM, SAYING, I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD: HE THAT FOLLOWETH ME SHALL NOT WALK IN DARKNESS, BUT SHALL HAVE THE LIGHT OF LIFE.

Jn 12:35-37-THEN JESUS SAID UNTO THEM, YET A LITTLE WHILE IS THE LIGHT WITH YOU. WALK WHILE YE HAVE THE LIGHT, LEST DARKNESS COME UPON YOU: FOR HE THAT WALKETH IN DARKNESS KNOWETH NOT WHITHER HE GOETH. WHILE YE HAVE LIGHT, BELIEVE IN THE LIGHT, THAT YE MAY BE THE CHILDREN OF LIGHT. THESE THINGS SPAKE JESUS, AND DEPARTED, AND DID HIDE HIMSELF FROM THEM. BUT THOUGH HE HAD DONE SO MANY MIRACLES BEFORE THEM, YET THEY BELIEVED NOT ON HIM:

Jn 12:46-I AM COME A LIGHT INTO THE WORLD, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH ON ME SHOULD NOT ABIDE IN DARKNESS.

Acts 26:16-18-BUT RISE, AND STAND UPON THY FEET: FOR I HAVE APPEARED UNTO THEE FOR THIS PURPOSE, TO MAKE THEE A MINISTER AND A WITNESS BOTH OF THESE THINGS WHICH THOU HAST SEEN, AND OF THOSE THINGS IN THE WHICH I WILL APPEAR UNTO THEE; DELIVERING THEE FROM THE PEOPLE, AND FROM THE GENTILES, UNTO WHOM NOW I SEND THEE, TO OPEN THEIR EYES, AND TO TURN THEM FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT, AND FROM THE POWER OF SATAN UNTO GOD, THAT THEY MAY RECEIVE FORGIVENESS OF SINS, AND INHERITANCE AMONG THEM WHICH ARE SANCTIFIED BY FAITH THAT IS IN ME.

Ro 2:17-21-BEHOLD, THOU ART CALLED A JEW, AND RESTEST IN THE LAW, AND MAKEST THY BOAST OF GOD, AND KNOWEST HIS WILL, AND APPROVEST THE THINGS THAT ARE MORE EXCELLENT, BEING INSTRUCTED OUT OF THE LAW; AND ART CONFIDENT THAT THOU THYSELF ART A GUIDE OF THE BLIND, A LIGHT OF THEM WHICH ARE IN DARKNESS, AN INSTRUCTOR OF THE FOOLISH, A TEACHER OF BABES, WHICH HAST THE FORM OF KNOWLEDGE AND OF THE TRUTH IN THE LAW. THOU THEREFORE WHICH TEACHEST ANOTHER, TEACHEST THOU NOT THYSELF? THOU THAT PREACHEST A MAN SHOULD NOT STEAL, DOST THOU STEAL?

Ro 13:12-THE NIGHT IS FAR SPENT, THE DAY IS AT HAND: LET US THEREFORE CAST OFF THE WORKS OF DARKNESS, AND LET US PUT ON THE ARMOUR OF LIGHT.

2 Cor 4:5-6-FOR WE PREACH NOT OURSELVES, BUT CHRIST JESUS THE LORD; AND OURSELVES YOUR SERVANTS FOR JESUS' SAKE. FOR GOD, WHO COMMANDED THE LIGHT TO SHINE OUT OF DARKNESS, HATH SHINED IN OUR HEARTS, TO GIVE THE LIGHT OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE GLORY OF GOD IN THE FACE OF JESUS CHRIST.

Eph 5:8-FOR YE WERE SOMETIMES DARKNESS, BUT NOW ARE YE LIGHT IN THE LORD: WALK AS CHILDREN OF LIGHT:

Eph 5:11-12-AND HAVE NO FELLOWSHIP WITH THE UNFRUITFUL WORKS OF DARKNESS, BUT RATHER REPROVE THEM. FOR IT IS A SHAME EVEN TO SPEAK OF THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE DONE OF THEM IN SECRET.

Eph 6:12-17-FOR WE WRESTLE NOT AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD, BUT AGAINST PRINCIPALITIES, AGAINST POWERS, AGAINST THE RULERS OF THE DARKNESS OF THIS WORLD, AGAINST SPIRITUAL WICKEDNESS IN HIGH PLACES. WHEREFORE TAKE UNTO YOU THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD, THAT YE MAY BE ABLE TO WITHSTAND IN THE EVIL DAY, AND HAVING DONE ALL, TO STAND. STAND THEREFORE, HAVING YOUR LOINS GIRT ABOUT WITH TRUTH, AND HAVING ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS; AND YOUR FEET SHOD WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; ABOVE ALL, TAKING THE SHIELD OF FAITH, WHEREWITH YE SHALL BE ABLE TO QUENCH ALL THE FIERY DARTS OF THE WICKED. AND TAKE THE HELMET OF SALVATION, AND THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, WHICH IS THE WORD OF GOD:

Col 1:12-13-GIVING THANKS UNTO THE FATHER, WHICH HATH MADE US MEET TO BE PARTAKERS OF THE INHERITANCE OF THE SAINTS IN LIGHT: WHO HATH DELIVERED US FROM THE POWER OF DARKNESS, AND HATH TRANSLATED US INTO THE KINGDOM OF HIS DEAR SON:

1 Thes 5:4-5-BUT YE, BRETHREN, ARE NOT IN DARKNESS, THAT THAT DAY SHOULD OVERTAKE YOU AS A THIEF. YE ARE ALL THE CHILDREN OF LIGHT, AND THE CHILDREN OF THE DAY: WE ARE NOT OF THE NIGHT, NOR OF DARKNESS.

BUT HE THAT HATETH HIS BROTHER IS IN DARKNESS, AND WALKETH IN DARKNESS, AND KNOWETH NOT WHITHER HE GOETH, BECAUSE THAT DARKNESS HATH BLINDED HIS EYES.
